American Teenagers Movie

What a movie. These 4 kids in Warsaw, Indiana, (there's a Polish community in Indiana?) are filmed for one school year. There is a nerd, a jock, an basket case, and a princess. Hmm...sounds like the Breakfast Club minus the criminal. I'll just kind of give little highlights of each character:

Jake is a nerd. He's actually a bit of a basket case as well. He has a girl friend for a little bit who leaves him for the hottie in marching band. When she breaks up with him, they are in a restaurant and he puts his face down on the table, sits back up, rubs the table where his face was, and smiles as he tells his ex-gf, "see that, now the table's greasy!" Perfect comic relief

Colin is the jock. His dad works as an Elvis impersonator and tells Colin, "son, we can't afford for you to go to college so you'll have to get in on a scholarship." Well excuse me for saying this but maybe if you didn't pretend to be Elvis, you would have some money for your son to go to college.

Megan is the princess.She wants to get into Notre Dame University because everyone else in her family has. At the end of the film she says she's matured and has a diverse group of friends. Ya right.

Hannah is the basket case. She can't wait to graduate and move to California. At the beginning of the film, she's been dating this guy, Joel, for 2 years. One night, she loses her virginity to him and he breaks up with her after. Give the girl a break, it's her first time. No, but seriously, that's beyond mean. Later on, Hannah starts seeing Mitch, a popular jock. He seems crazy about her but breaks up with Hannah due to peer pressure from his friends. Did I mention, he text message breaks up with her and as Chloe will remind you, "you don't text message break up!"

At the end of the film, they have this "where are they now?" sequence and Mitch actually says "Believe me, I will never text message break up again. For this reason, Mitch is my favourite. Anyone who can say they will never text message break up again is a hero in my world.
