Oak Island

So we read this article about Oak Island which is located off the coast of Nova Scotia (yay Canada!) The island is full of traps and mysteries and secrets and for the past 250 years, people have been investing money into it to gain its treasures. The island has a 200 ft deep pit that connects to a man-made beach down the coast from the pit. If you dig deep enough into the pit, it floods with water. No significant treasure has been found on Oak Island yet there is evidence that something great is located on the island.

In 250 years, the island has cost infinite amounts of money and even a few lives, and it's fair to say that they're hardly any farther with the puzzle of the island now then when people first started taking an interest in it. In my opinion, there is no way that the creators of the puzzle on the island spent this much effort creating it. So is it really such a big deal?

I think there is likely pure evil on the island. Whatever is there is not meant to be found. Not to go all sci-fi but it's likely something purely evil and whoever gets their hands on it becomes the ultimate ruler of darkness in the universe.

The pit on the island resembles a scab. If you start picking at it, it will be painful. The deeper you pick, the more blood will rise up out of it. If you leave it alone, it heals. If we get our machines off the island, the island will likely heal and the government can pretend it never happened. As it is, the island has suffered severe damage due to all the digging and the destruction of the man-made beach.
